Contingent Filter
Manjo Star provides the Contingent Filter Chrome extension (hereby referred to as "Extension") as a free service. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
By using our Extension, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.
Information Collection and Use
The Extension does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information, browsing history, search terms, or account details to Manjo Star or to any other server. It does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising, and it does not sell, share, or transfer data to anyone.
How the Extension Works
The Extension runs only on pages at www.zillow.com. Because Zillow's search results don't show whether a home is contingent, the Extension opens the public detail page on zillow.com for each home in the current map view and reads the status shown there. These requests go only to zillow.com, from your own browser, the same way they would if you opened each listing yourself. They carry your normal zillow.com cookies, and Zillow's own privacy policy covers what Zillow does with them.
Permissions Used
- Storage: saves your filter settings and a short-lived cache of listing statuses.
- Access to zillow.com: hides contingent listings on Zillow search pages and reads each listing's status from its zillow.com detail page.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Your settings (filter on/off, hide contingent, hide pending) are kept in Chrome's extension storage until you change them or remove the Extension. If you use Chrome sync, Google syncs these settings across your own signed-in browsers.
- Listing statuses (a Zillow listing ID and its status, such as "Active" or "Contingent") are kept in your browser's local storage for zillow.com for 12 hours, then discarded.
- The count of hidden homes in the current map area is kept only in the open Zillow tab's memory and is never saved.
Data Retention
The Extension does not store any user data on servers. All data stays on your device, as described above.
Data Deletion
You can delete all data used by the Extension at any time by taking the following actions:
- Uninstalling the Extension from Chrome, which removes its settings.
- Clearing site data for zillow.com in Chrome's settings, which removes cached listing statuses right away. Otherwise they expire on their own within 12 hours.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received by the Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Affiliation
Contingent Filter is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Zillow.
